OVERVIEW

ZAIUS is a data analytics company located in Boston, MA. ZAIUS works largely with eCommerce websites, providing their clients with data that can help enhance and boost sales. We were tasked to re-design ZAIUS' existing customer profile page. This interface allows clients to track and obtain information about individual shoppers in real time. Our main goals were to create a better hierarchy of data as well as to bring a human-element to the customer data.

PROBLEM

Create a customer profile page that humanizes each consumer. A dashboard that presents data from multiple sources is needed to provide businesses with the necessary tools to take action and make appropriate business decisions.

SOLUTION

Tell a story through customizable data points to better connect clients with their customers. Designing a glance-able profile page where clients can rearrange the hierarchy of data will give them the opportunity to organize their data in ways that are most beneficial to their business needs.

PROCESS

The first step was to conduct primary research by interviewing marketing professionals who specialize in data analitycs. We spoke to them to determine what feautures they would like to have when looking through data, as well as what fustrated them the most when using other data providers. This helped us to gain a better undertanding of the existing challenges.

Using the information gained through primary research, we determined that the heierachy of data should be modifiable by the user. We created a customizable dashbord that allows users to drag and drop information based on their individual preference.

The top box of the dashboard contains the user's information. This information is persistent, essential and should always be visible for that reason this box is anchored to the page. The box at the bottom with the history information is anchored to the page as well.

Through the research we also found out that some marketers prefer having a little "story" of the customers and not looking only to numbers, for that reason we designed a narrative script that can be seen by clicking View Story of each individual customer. The script outlines the top and key information from each of the nine widgets below. This provides clients with a quicker alternative to gain insight in their customers, and provides a voice to the customer.

The nine widgets can be moved or minimized. Minimized widgets are anchored in the Customize section and can be added back at any time.

This box provides the main information about a customer, for easy accesibility we chose to anchor it in the top left corner of the dashboard. A small picture incorporated from facebook or substituted with an avatar will give the customer a face. And a short narrative from the customer's perspective will give the customer a voice when hovering over "View Story"

With the main information available, clients can easily skim this section and see badges that depict the top sections and lifecycle information.

Main Customer Information

Customer Value

The Customer Value is an important piece of information that is being integrated from Zaius' original design. By including it within the dashboard in its own panel, clients will now have the ability to move it according to their own ranking of importance.

Usage by Device

By understanding the devices that each consumer uses to shop with, clients can structure their website designs and manage their content to increase sales.

Customer Timeline

This section allows the clients to track the brand interactions in the form of a timeline. the interactive slider allows the client to view the main actions taken by the consumer.

The timeline highlights emails, click-throughs, web sessions, abandon carts, purchases and items purchased with a gift receipt.

Social Media Engagement

Many customers engage with brands through social media. Having an idea of their engagement levels can be helpful in identifying trend setters and brand ambassadors.

Those that are regularly engaging with the brand via social media can be instrumental within specific markets and therefore should be targeted accordingly.

Motivators

Having a full understanding of the motivators that prompts a consumer to click on or buy a product, provides clients with the insight to targer consumers with the proper campaigns for future sales.
